Why was the 1865 Edition of the Valera bible needed?

The 1602 Valera is the second edition of the Reina Valera Bible.  The first edition was published by Casiodoro de Reina in 1569.  Cipriano de Valera revised it and published and published it in 1602.  It 1865 it was revised to put into modern spelling and bring into Spanish speaking world the trustworthy text of the Reina Valera Bible.  The Spanish of the Golden Age was elegant and precise but it was necessary to modernize the spelling to make the text understandable.
